Sylvain has more than 20 years’ experience in buy-outs, investments, banking, M&A and corporate restructuring. Over the years, Sylvain lead and participated in over 30 successfully closed transactions of all sizes deploying more than $3 billion of capital in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In addition, Sylvain has personally been involved in the restructuring of many companies as executive, adviser or through senior executive roles.
Prior to co-founding Alioth Capital, Sylvain co-lead the acquisition of Stellar Energy International where in addition to being a shareholder and an Executive Board Member, he acted as interim CEO and CFO. Today, Stellar Energy is a global leader in the design and construction of modular and district energy systems with offices in Dubai, Jacksonville, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Shanghai. Previously, Sylvain co-founded Dubai International Capital, the international investment arm of Dubai Holding. In less than three years as head of the firm’s private equity and global buy-out divisions, he created an internationally recognized buy-out firm, with $2.2 billion deployed capital while building a team of 30 employees and offices in London and Dubai. Sylvain also personally lead the lucrative merger of The Tussauds Group with Merlin Entertainment creating the world’s second largest attraction park operator after Disney.
Sylvain’s prior roles include serving as Chief Operating Officer of Injazat Technology Fund (Private Equity) in Dubai and eight years as a Senior Relationship Officer for ABN AMRO Bank in Abu Dhabi.
Sylvain has been in the Middle East for over 18 years. He is a CFA charter holder and holds a B.com from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, with a concentration in finance and accounting. Sylvain has served as a Board member in more than 8 large international companies.
