Juno nominated artist, Marianne Trudel is a multi-talented pianist, composer, improvisor, arranger and educator. At once energetic and passionate, her music cross-cuts a wide swath of musical interests. As a performer, she pursues an active career in a variety of settings ranging from solo performance to: Trudel-Hollenbeck, Marianne Trudel 4 + Ingrid Jensen, Trudel-Young, Trifolia, and large ensembles. She has presented her music in various countries: Canada, United States, Mexico, France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, and China.

Recipient of the Prix Galaxie Étoiles award for the best composition at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Marianne Trudel has presented multiple artistic projects that not only bring her considerable skills to the fore but also her keen sense of creativity.

She has shared the stage with many international artists. In jazz and improvised music, Marianne has played with Chucho Valdes, Kenny Wheeler, Ingrid Jensen, Tony Malaby, David Liebman, John Hollenbeck, Mark Feldman, Hamid Drake, and William Parker. She has also presented concerts with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the Violons du Roy (Quebec). In “chanson française” and world music Marianne has accompanied acclaimed artists such as Charles Aznavour, Lena Chamamyan, Farida, Naseer Shamma, and Charbel Rouhana. She has accompanied many poets from Quebec such as Joséphine Bacon, Patrice Desbiens, José Acquelin, and Louise Dupré. She has composed and arranged for: the Canadian national Jazz Orchestra, the Violons du Roy (Quebec), the Hard Rubber Orchestra (Vancouver), the American Composers Orchestra (NYC), the Henri Mancini Institute Orchestra (Los Angeles), and the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal.

Marianne Trudel has been invited as a guest lecturer and performer at multiple educational institutions such as: Berklee College of Music (Boston), Real Colegio de Santa Rosa de Viterbo (Mexico), Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval (Quebec), Memorial University (St-John’s, Newfounland), Bishop University, and Guelph University (Ontario). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance (McGill University), a Masters in Ethnomusicology (Université de Montréal) and participated in numerous workshops in North America and Europe (Banff Centre for the Arts, Henri Mancini Institute, Vancouver Creative Music workshop, Jazz Orchestra – NYC).
